Satisfaction
2003 : Week 51 | Printer Friendly Version
Today’s message is from Becky Hearn. Becky has had other messages on our site, and we invite you to review them in our Archives. Becky’s poem is a beautiful expression of the desire to love God; it’s the feeling someone gets when they realize the things of the world cannot satisfy them as completely as our God can.
Satisfaction, as revealed by the Holy Spirit to Becky Hearn…
God, make me yearn for You.
Create that desire anew.
Pull me close and satisfy me,
as only You can do.
Passion can barely describe You.
Strength is hardly the word.
Deep is not nearly far enough.
Amazing is never quite the term.
Beyond our words,
Beyond our thoughts,
Beyond our ability –
You are so much more.
This world isn’t enough.
It can’t fill my heart.
It can’t build that fire.
It can’t make me dance –
not the way You can,
not the way You can
Nothing can create that passion
like the Lord of All does.
God, make me long for You.
Create in me, what you will.
Satisfy my longings.
Help others to see –
it’s something only You can do.

Ecclesiastes 1:8-9
8 All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing.
9 That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.
